If you are not familiar with the Harvard Classics in 1909, the President of Harvard University, Dr. Eliot, made claims that one could get a quality education simply by reading from a 5-foot shelf of classics for 15 minutes a day. Collier & Son challenged Dr. Eliot to create such a collection of classic literature, the first collection of which was published in 1909. This is the 1969 reissue of that collection.
